To keep iced cake without damaging it place the cake in the lid and gently lower the tin on top. But remember to keep the tin upside down.

Use sunflower oil for cake batter instead of cream. Cake turn out equally tasty and they will be low on calories too.

A little glycerine added to the cake batter makes the cake softer and puffier.

Short of cake tin double the aluminum foil and mould it around the outside of the desired dish .Remove the foil and bake cake in the foil mould.

For a professional touch brush the top of home made biscuits with beaten egg.

The  easiest way to divide a cake into layers is to use a piece of sewing thread .Hold the thread around the cake and pull it to opposite direction. the cut will be neat even and almost crumbles.

To give custard an extra flavor add a tsp of brandy to it just before serving.

Bake cake in greased idli mould instead of in one large bake tin, so instead of getting one cake you'll have plenty of mini cakes.

To prepare a thin dough for pancake wheat flour instead add the flour to the water stirring constantly. This way no lumps are formed and the dough is ready faster. When preparing puddings add a few drops of lemon juice improves the flavor of pudding

If a top of pear cake develops cracks  while baking ,soak a kitchen napkin in warm water ]wring out water and place it over cake. This will bring the edges together.

To get a smooth consistency and avoid uneven cream formation while thickening milk for pudding ice creams etc. add a pinch of soda bi carb  to one lit milk before boiling it .
